Homer Davis with Betty and Norm Wolfe — c. late 1960s
A color group of four beside a row of parked cars, c. late 1960s (by the cars). Left to right: Homer Edward Davis (1900–1982) in glasses and a grey shirt; his daughter Betty Jean (Davis) Wolfe (1926–2015); a small girl in front — one of the family’s grandchildren, not yet named; and Betty’s husband Norman Graham “Norm” Wolfe (1926–2015).
Homer is about sixty-eight here, some years into the Florida-and-visiting chapter of his life. It is the first photograph of Norm Wolfe in the archive — the Marietta High School quarterback who married Betty in 1945 and, with her, hosted the 108 Hillcrest Drive holiday dinners of Chuck’s childhood — and now his page portrait.
