Shang Yaozhen as a young woman — two portraits in qipao, c. 1940s

Two black-and-white photographs of young women in qipao (旗袍), c. 1940s, from Lijie’s maternal side. Identified by Lijie’s mother, Li Xun, in 2026 — these are the earliest young-adult likenesses of Lijie’s maternal grandmother Shang Yaozhen in the archive.

First photograph (above): on the right is Shang Yaozhen (Lijie’s maternal grandmother); on the left is Hou Wuxun (侯吾迅), a classmate of Yaozhen’s (not a family member).

Second photograph (above): on the right is again Shang Yaozhen; on the left is her elder sister Shang Yaoxiang (b. 1911).

An earlier version of this entry guessed the pictures showed “one of Lijie’s grandmothers with a sister,” with identities unconfirmed. Li Xun’s 2026 identification settles it: both frames are of Shang Yaozhen — once with her schoolmate Hou Wuxun, once with her sister Yaoxiang.

第一张（页首）：右边是**尚耀真（Lijie的外祖母）；左边是侯吾迅**，尚耀真的同学（并非家人）。

第二张：右边仍是**尚耀真；左边是她的姐姐尚耀香**（1911年生）。

本条目早先版本曾猜测照片为”Lijie的祖母与其姐妹”，身份未定。李恂2026年的指认予以确认：两张皆为尚耀真 — 一张与同学侯吾迅，一张与姐姐耀香。
