Visit with Zhaoxiang Zhou — Ling, Xun, Lijie, and Chuck

Three generations of the Zhou family in one frame.

Seated in the front row: Zhaoxiang Zhou 周兆祥 (Lijie’s paternal grandfather, b. 1930 Jiaozhou Shi, d. 9 December 2022 Qingdao), in a light grey jacket and dark trousers, smiling, flanked by his son and daughter-in-law — Xun Li 李恂 on the left in a camel coat (Lijie’s mother), and Ling Zhou 周玲 on the right in a dark leather jacket (Lijie’s father).

The colorful flower-and-vine folk-art mural behind the seated row places the room in a Chinese community or senior gathering space.

This is the late-life photograph of Zhaoxiang Zhou in the archive; the family also holds a younger-man studio portrait of him not yet placed here. He died less than a decade after Yaozhen Shang (Lijie’s maternal grandmother, d. 2013) and a year before his own wife Yunzhe Sun (d. 2023). After his death, the elder generation on the Zhou side passed entirely into the family record.

背后彩色花卉藤蔓民间艺术墙画将此画面置于中国社区或老年活动空间。同次探访中另有一张周兆祥与女儿周爱华及其夫的合影，存于家中，待补上传。

这是本档案中关于周兆祥晚年的合影；家中另存有一张他壮年时的单人正装照，尚未录入档案。他比尚耀真（Lijie的外祖母，2013年辞世）晚了不到十年，比自己的妻子孙云哲（2023年辞世）早了一年辞世。他之后，周氏一脉的祖辈全部进入家族档案之中。
