Young Chuck Eesley on the back porch of 108 Hillcrest Drive with his parents Charlie and Terrie and his maternal grandmother Dorothy “Dottie” Davis Wildermuth — Aunt Betty Wolfe’s older sister, visiting from Florida. Confirmed by Chuck Eesley June 2026. The collie or sheltie at the steps is the Wolfe family dog of the period.

What this frame records

The Hillcrest back porch in the early Reagan years, with Chuck’s immediate family and his maternal grandmother together. Dottie’s presence at the Wolfes’ house in Marietta is consistent with the broader maternal Wildermuth-Davis family-care arc: her younger sister Betty Wolfe was the household host, the two sisters were a year apart, and the Hillcrest house was a natural gathering place for Davis-side family visits. Bob and Dottie made several trips back to Marietta across their Florida retirement years — the c. 1985–87 van photograph captures a later one of those trips. This earlier porch frame, with Chuck very small, is probably one of their first visits in the years after he was born in late 1979.
