John “Jack” Anthony Murdock, Jr. was the son of Mary Louise (Davis) Murdock — and thus a grandson of Homer and Bessie Davis, and a grandnephew of Chuck’s grandmother Dorothy Davis Wildermuth.
Born in 1946, he is the infant in the 1947 five-generation Hill–Davis–Murdock portrait — the youngest of the generations gathered in that frame, held in his mother’s arms. He died in 1977, around the age of thirty-one.
