137 Hillcrest Drive in winter, c. mid-1980s

The Eesley family’s house at 137 Hillcrest Drive in Marietta, photographed from the front yard in winter — patchy snow on the grass, bare trees, and a Christmas wreath on the front door. A single-story mid-century house with a low-pitched roof, a band of clerestory windows along the front wing, and a brick chimney at the right. A small figure — likely young Chuck — stands in the yard near the front walk.

This is the house Chuck grew up in after the family’s 1983 move back to Marietta from Annapolis, a few doors down the same street from his great-aunt and -uncle Betty and Norm Wolfe at 108 Hillcrest, before the family moved on to Highland Ridge Road. It is the first exterior frame of the Hillcrest childhood house in this archive.
