Edward Frederick Wildermuth's family with the matriarch Catharina Boeshar — outdoors, c. early 1920s

An outdoor family snapshot with Catharina Boeshar as the seated matriarch, taken against the brick-and-stone wall of a house — presumably in Marietta. Per Chuck Eesley’s July 2026 face-tagging, the four people are:

• Seated, center — Catharina Boeshar (b. 1840, d. 1933), the matriarch, elderly here in a dark high-necked dress with a long striped skirt over her lap. This is the clearest single image of her face in the archive.
• Standing, left — her youngest son Edward Frederick Wildermuth (b. 1873, d. 1964), in a dark suit and tie.
• Standing, right — his wife Arminda Jane Hayes (b. 1886, d. 1967), in a light dress. The family knew her as Jane.
• Front, left, on a tricycle — their young son William Wildermuth, a boy of about four or five.

Dating

The photograph postdates Edward Frederick and Arminda’s marriage on 15 April 1918, and the boy on the tricycle looks about four or five — which places the sitting in the early 1920s, with Catharina (b. 1840) in her early eighties. She would live to 1933; Edward would live to 1964.

A note on the record

The family GEDCOM does not list any children for Edward Frederick and Arminda’s marriage, so their son William is documented here by this photograph and the family’s own identification rather than by the descendant tree — a reminder that the tree is incomplete for this branch. His dates and later life are open questions on his page.
