Frances “Fanny” Ayris was born in Horley, Oxfordshire in 1756 and christened there on 17 April 1756. The Oxford volunteer’s notes had her down as “Fanny Ayns,” with a question mark on whether the Bloxham wedding entry of 16 April 1787 was the right one; Dale’s tree confirms it was — Joseph and Fanny were her, and the 1787 Bloxham marriage is real.
She bore Joseph at least four children in the Banbury/Hanwell area — William (1787), Hannah (1790), Mary (1794), and John (bp. 1799 Hanwell) — and was buried at Hanwell in 1829, age 73. The Oxford volunteer’s note found her burial record but couldn’t quite tie it back; Dale’s tree closes that loop.
The earlier site (and the brief) had her recorded as “Frances Eesley” with no maiden surname; the GEDCOM correction is Frances Fanny Ayris of Horley, an Oxfordshire family one parish over from Hanwell.
