Extended Eesley family gathering outdoors with Will and Peggy and young Chuck — c. 1985–1986

An extended Eesley family gathering outdoors, c. 1985–1986, eight figures grouped before green trees in what reads as a Highland Ridge summer family occasion. Cast partially identified — confirmation queued for Chuck on the un-IDed figures.

The cast (best read)

Back row, left to right:

  • Man with dark mustache and hair in light blue short-sleeve shirt — possibly a family-friend or in-law, cast queued
  • Woman with light hair and glasses in a sleeveless pale-blue dress — cast queued
  • Tall woman in pale blue dress with light hair tied back — likely Anne Eesley, home from Charleston
  • Older woman with gray-white hair in tan-and-blue knit suit — Peggy McMaster Eesley
  • Man with sandy hair in light blue short-sleeve shirt — possibly Charlie Eesley
  • Younger woman in red-and-blue striped shirt and pale blue shorts — possibly Terrie Lee Wildermuth Eesley
  • Older man in white short-sleeve shirt and dark slacks, glasses — Will Eesley the architect

Front:

  • Kneeling, blonde woman in dark printed sleeveless top and dark skirt — cast queued (possibly Maggie or another family woman)
  • Standing in the middle, young blonde boy in blue-and-white striped polo and red shorts with sneakers — young Chuck Eesley, about 5 or 6 years old

Why this date

Chuck’s apparent age (born December 1979) places the photograph at c. 1985–1986. Will Eesley would die in June 1986; if this is summer 1985 it captures the last family-gathering summer with Will still living. The bright summer light and casual short-sleeve clothes suggest a warm-weather family event, possibly a Will-and-Peggy anniversary, a Charlie-and-Terrie hosting, or a milestone family birthday.

What this frame records

Three of Will and Peggy’s four children together with their parents and Chuck. Anne home from Charleston; Charlie and Terrie hosting (presumed); young Chuck the only grandchild in the frame. The eight-figure frame captures the Eesley household at a moment when most of the family could still assemble in one Marietta yard — the kind of frame that becomes precious when one of the figures (Will) dies the following year.

Cast confirmation on the un-IDed figures queued for Chuck.
