Byron E. Hill
also known as Byron Hill
b. 1887-10-11
d. 1932-03-17
Byron E. Hill married Ida Jeanetta “Nettie” (Ullman) Hill on 20 March 1912. He was born 11 October 1887 and died 17 March 1932, age 44 — leaving Nettie a widow for the last forty-five years of her life.
His is the surname behind one of the archive’s neat coincidences: Nettie’s older sister Clara Ullmann married Harvey Hendershot Hill, so both Ullmann sisters became “Mrs. Hill” — but Byron came from a separate Hill family, not Harvey’s, so the matching surname is chance, not a double-brother marriage.
He and Nettie had several children, seen with their parents in the c. 1920 family portrait — two boys and a baby — though the archive does not yet record the children’s names (the 1920 U.S. Census for Byron’s Ohio household would supply them). In the portrait Byron stands at right, a slim young man in wire-rimmed glasses and a dark suit.
He is Chuck’s great-great-granduncle by marriage on the Ullman/Hill side.
