Harold John Eesley
b. 1893
d. 1977
Harold John Eesley — born 1893, died 1977, aged about 84 — was the second child and the only surviving child of John Franklin Eesley and Kittie Belle Scott. His given names invert his father’s: John Franklin’s son was Harold John.
His sister Iva Belle died in infancy in 1888, five years before he was born; his younger brother Franklin R. B. died in 1908 at about ten. Harold was thus the only child in the house from the age of fifteen, and he outlived his father by nearly fifty years — long enough to see the Sunshine Flour Mill pass out of family hands and, eventually, onto the National Register of Historic Places.
Open question. Whether Harold took any part in the J. F. Eesley Milling Co. after his father’s death in 1929, whether he married, and whether the Plainwell Eesley line continues through him are not yet recorded here.
