Iva Belle Eesley was the first child of John Franklin Eesley and Kittie Belle Scott, born in 1887 — the year her father returned to Plainwell for good and bought the roller rink that became the Sunshine Flour Mill — and dead in 1888, in infancy. Her given name carries her mother’s: Kittie Belle.
She is buried in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell. Of her parents’ three children only her brother Harold John reached adulthood; their younger brother Franklin R. B. died in 1908 at about ten.
