Margaret Adeline 'Peggy' (Youman) Eesley

Margaret Adeline “Peggy” (Youman) Eesley was the wife of Donald Stuart “Don” Eesley — Charles Leonard and Lillie Dale Chenoweth Eesley’s third son. She is “Aunt Peggy Yeoman” in the family-memory shorthand — distinguished from Chuck’s grandmother Peggy McMaster Eesley (Will’s wife) by the maiden-name suffix.

Two Peggys in one family

The Eesley generation of Chuck’s grandparents had two Peggy Eesleys at the same time:

1. Peggy McMaster Eesley — Chuck’s grandmother, Will’s wife (married 1942), born 1914 Coraopolis PA.
2. Peggy Youman Eesley — Don’s wife (married 1938), born 1913 in Ohio.

Both were known as “Peggy” in the family. Both were Margaret Eesleys by marriage. The “Yeoman/Youman” maiden-name suffix that the c. 1970s reunion caption uses to identify her was the everyday-family disambiguation.

The Don Eesley marriage

She married Don Eesley (b. 24 September 1908 Lebanon OH; d. 15 May 1975) on 16 June 1938 in Franklin County, Ohio. The marriage took place during the Charles Leonard Eesley extended family’s Columbus / Bexley years; Don was an Ohio State graduate working his way into the electrical / engineering career he would carry through the rest of his life. He died 15 May 1975, age 66; she survived him.

In the reunion portrait

She appears second from the right in the c. 1971–1972 Eesley extended family reunion portrait — identified in the typed caption as “Aunt Peggy Yeoman Eesley.” She is in her late fifties here; her husband Don is also in the frame (fourth from the left), still living — the reunion predates his 15 May 1975 death by several years.

She is Chuck’s great-aunt by marriage on the paternal Eesley side.
