Elisabeth (Bode) Ullmann

also known as Elisabeth Bode, maiden

b. 1854-01-04, Monroe County, Ohio, United States
d. 1930-01-06, Waterford Township, Washington County, Ohio, United States

Elisabeth (Bode) Ullmann (1854–1930) was the wife of Frederick Ullmann and the mother of Clara Victoria Ullmann and Ida Jeanetta “Nettie” Ullman — Chuck’s maternal great-great-great-grandmother on the Ullmann line.

She was born 4 January 1854 in Monroe County, Ohio — a daughter of the German-immigrant couple Heinrich Friedrich Bode and Phoebe Kimnach — and was christened the following winter at Elk Township, Noble County. She died 6 January 1930 in Waterford Township, Washington County, two days after her seventy-sixth birthday. She and Frederick had eight children (see his page for the full list).

The probable family group portrait

Elisabeth is probably the older woman in the printed dress seated at the center of the c. 1912 Ullmann family group portrait, beside Frederick. As with his, this identification is an unconfirmed working guess — the print is unlabeled — but the ages fit.
