Stephanie (“Stephie”) Kamiab is the daughter of Aunt Jeanne (Eesley) Kamiab and Joseph “Joe” Kamiab — Chuck Eesley’s first cousin on the paternal Eesley side. Her parents were married in Marietta in June 1965, the wedding her uncle Charlie names in his 12th-grade autobiography and the family-with-Joe-Kamiab portrait above captures.
She is named in passing in Charlie’s late-1970 letter to Terrie from Vietnam — “Jeanne writes and says that Stephie already calls you Aunt Terrie” — the earliest reference to her by name in this archive. The line places her as a small child whose adoption of “Aunt Terrie” for her uncle’s then-girlfriend already, before either Charlie and Terrie’s marriage or her own first cousin Chuck’s 1979 birth, was one of the small family signals that Charlie and Terrie were heading to a wedding.
