Anna Catherina Landai

Anna Catherina Landai was born 11 October 1748 in Röhrach, the same small Württemberg village near Aspach where she would later marry Georg Wilhelm Schmidgall (24 April 1785, in nearby Rietenau). Her parents were Joseph Landai, a Röhrach day laborer, and Maria Dorothea Wild of Eschach. She died 26 February 1798, age fifty.
Robert Earl’s 1989 “Little History” records her as the line connector to the deeper Landai-Wild generation:
Anna Catherina was the daughter of Joseph Landai and Maria Dorothea Wild. She was born in Röhrach on the 11th of October 1748 and died 26 February 1798. Age fifty.
Her daughter Maria Margaretha Schmidgall carries the line forward to the Wildermuth marriage of 1842.
Note on the surname: Robert Earl spelled the Landai/Lundai surname inconsistently across his two sketches — Lundai on p. 51 (her parents), Landai on p. 54 (her father Joseph). The actual archival spelling is likely a Württemberg variant of Landauer or Landau, but the family-record spelling Robert Earl used was Landai.
